1. Acceptance of these terms
By using wattsmyrebate.com.au (the "Site") you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Site. The Site is operated by Christian Beaden, sole trader, trading as "Watt's My Rebate" (ABN registered in Western Australia, Australia).
2. What this site is and is not
What we are
An independent comparison and lead-referral service for the WA Residential Battery Rebate Scheme and the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program. We provide:
- A calculator that estimates potential rebate amounts
- Editorial comparisons of WA battery installers
- A quote-matching service that refers your details to up to 3 SAA-accredited installers
- Written guides about the rebate schemes
What we are not
- We do not sell, install, finance, service, repair, warrant, or guarantee home batteries
- We are not a licensed electrical contractor
- We are not financial advisers, legal advisers, or engineering consultants
- We do not process rebate applications (your installer does)
- We are not affiliated with the Government of Western Australia, Synergy, Horizon Power, the Clean Energy Council, Solar Accreditation Australia, or any specific battery manufacturer or installer
3. The calculator is an estimator
The rebate calculator and any savings, payback, or pricing figures shown on the Site are estimates only, based on the published scheme rates at the time the calculator was last updated and on simplified assumptions. They are not quotes, financial advice, or guarantees of outcome.
Actual rebate amounts and savings depend on:
- The specific battery model installed (must be on the current SAA approved list)
- Your installer's pricing
- Your specific eligibility (ownership, network, prior claims)
- Scheme rates current at the time of install (which change periodically)
- Your actual electricity consumption patterns and tariff plan
Always verify current rates at energy.gov.au and wa.gov.au, and confirm all figures with your installer before signing any contract.
4. Lead referrals and how we make money
This is the most important section. By submitting the quote form on the Site you understand and agree that:
- Your contact details and home information will be shared with up to 3 SAA-accredited battery installers servicing your suburb
- Those installers will contact you directly to provide quotes
- Those installers pay us a referral fee of $30 to $150 per qualified lead, paid by the installer, not by you
- You are under no obligation to accept any quote or proceed with any installer
- You may also receive marketing follow-up from the matched installers; their privacy policies apply to their use of your data
If you do not consent to this disclosure, do not submit the quote form. The calculator, guides, and comparison content are free to use without submitting any personal data.
5. Installer relationships
Once your details are shared with installers, your relationship is with those installers directly. We are not a party to any quote, install agreement, payment, or post-install service. Specifically:
- We do not vet, supervise, or guarantee the work of any installer beyond verifying their SAA accreditation at the time of listing
- We do not guarantee installer pricing, quote accuracy, install quality, install timeframes, warranty service, or any other aspect of installer performance
- Any dispute about pricing, quality, warranty, delivery, or any other matter relating to a quote or install is solely between you and the installer
- If an installer behaves badly, we want to know. Email wattsmyrebate@outlook.com. We may remove installers based on customer feedback, but we are not obligated to and we accept no liability for installer behaviour
6. Featured listings
Some installers pay a monthly fee for a "Featured" badge on the installer comparison page. Featured listings are clearly marked. Featured status:
- Does not change the ranking order on the comparison page
- Does not affect editorial decisions
- Does not indicate any endorsement or guarantee of quality beyond what is shown for non-featured installers
7. Acceptable use
When using the Site you agree not to:
- Submit the quote form with someone else's details without their consent
- Use the Site to scrape, copy, or reproduce installer data, calculator logic, or written content for commercial purposes
- Attempt to manipulate the calculator or claim rebates you are not eligible for
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to submit forms or extract data
- Interfere with the operation of the Site or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system
We reserve the right to refuse service, block IP addresses, or report illegal activity to relevant authorities.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site, calculator, content, and referral service are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, except to the extent that warranties are required by law (including the Australian Consumer Law).
We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Site is free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any information on the Site, though we make reasonable efforts to keep it current.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree that:
- We exclude liability for any rebate amount being lower than the calculator estimate
- We exclude liability for any installer's pricing, quote accuracy, work quality, install timing, warranty service, or post-install conduct
- We exclude liability for any loss, damage, or expense (whether direct, indirect, consequential, or otherwise) arising from your use of the Site, the calculator, or the lead referral service
- We exclude liability for any unauthorised access to your data caused by factors outside our reasonable control
- Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Site is limited to $100 AUD
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or your provision of false or misleading information through any form on the Site.
11. External links
We link to external sites (energy.gov.au, SAA register, manufacturer sites, installer sites, etc.) for your convenience. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of external sites. Following an external link is at your own risk.
12. Intellectual property
All content on the Site (text, design, calculator logic, branding) is the property of Christian Beaden trading as "Watt's My Rebate" unless otherwise stated. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may not republish, redistribute, scrape, or use Site content for commercial purposes without written permission.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms periodically. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent material change. Material changes will be summarised at the top of this page for 30 days after they take effect. Your continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, without notice, for any reason including breach of these Terms. Termination does not affect any obligations that survive by their nature (such as the limitation of liability and indemnity clauses).
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Site are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia.
16. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remain in full effect.
